CFPB
Consumer Financial Protection Bureau — federal regulator with primary mortgage-rule authority post-Dodd-Frank.
The CFPB issues rules under Regulation Z (TRID, QM, ATR), Regulation B (ECOA), Regulation X (RESPA), and others. Its examination procedures are publicly available; lender pricing engines that can't produce a per-rule trace make CFPB exams harder.
